Carbon reduction

Your vacation will help support local people and conservation. We must also reduce CO2. Learn about the CO2 emissions of this vacation and how to reduce them.

This tour will transport you to an eclectic and culturally significant range of heritage sites that date back to ancient times and it will also take you to unique places of natural beauty, including the Great Wall and Danxia Landform(Zhangye Danxia Geopark,). Start Hiking along the north part of Danxia Landform, enjoying the great view of Qilian Shan and memorable sunset. Few vacations have as little detrimental impact on the environment and local residents as a hiking trip. Traveling on foot, you will explore beautiful landscape with lower impact on the environments.

As we all know every tour produces a surplus of waste and hard-to-use biomass that is best kept in the food chain by feeding it to livestock. We usually buy from local markets to prepare foods in moderation, such as bread, milk, instant coffee, jam, vegetable, sausage... and try to eat them all, do not  leaving too much food behind.

Flora and fauna:
Our local guides will have a set of guidelines for each tour. The flora and fauna (flowers and animals) are in abundance and wide variety in remote villages along this tour. And the weak ecological environments are complex and multiplicity, and they are damageable. we advocate ecological tourism. Footpaths crisscrossed the fields, where the crowing of cocks and the barking of dogs were heard within distance, of course we stick to footpaths. The growing number of visitors is damaging the footpaths. It is necessary to mention this on tour briefing to our clients.

Water is a really important issue on along trekking trip and whilst we must stay hydrated. We have a system for providing clean water without causing lots of waste with plastic bottles. We encourage our passengers to refill a water bottle from water 'bubblers' where available to avoid unnecessary purchasing of bottled water and the subsequent waste disposal issues. We hope to leading a mostly plastic-free life in every groups that we organized.

It is advocated to recycle paper and ink cartridges to reduce the waste in landfill sites. We turn off printers, computers, battery chargers and transformers at the end of each day and use energy-efficient bulbs and low-energy appliances.

We are also exceptionally aware of the need to use local ‘green’ tourism services and businesses to ensure that the natural and social environments that host tourism are protected and well-managed. This includes the use of locally-sourced produce such as food and crafts.

Accommodation and Meals:
We carefully choose the hotel which are locally owned and simpler styles. The accommodations we select for our clients encourage clients to reuse their own towels, bed sheets for the whole staying. Our clients are also encouraged not to turn their room air-conditions under 26 degrees. We endeavor to include and strongly encourage our travelers to eat locally produced food and goods. This reduces energy resources consumed through production and transport of the food and goods purchased by our travelers.

A fair wages to local guides and drives:
We use all local guides and drivers so that we learn about the culture and way of life directly from those who live it and put money into local hands and economies. All receive fair wages and are provided with training opportunities both direct from us and from the local tourism bureau. Our guides are also responsible for advising travelers of the appropriate recycling options available in each place.
