As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we screen every trip so you can travel knowing your vacation will help support conservation and local people.

Any time we buy snacks for the road, we look for fresh and local bites; in Jordan this might be fresh olives, dates and nuts. We are able to prioritize locally produced foods, especially fruits and vegetables; for example at our farm-to-table Farewell Dinner in Amman and in our foraging and cooking class with a local women’s group.
On all of our trips, we focus on reduction of plastic and make sure that water jugs are available for refilling personal reusable water bottles. In the event of waste, recycle and composting, we direct client to the appropriate bins and disposal method. We provide guests with a special discount code for a Grayl water filter if they'd like to reduce plastic waste even more by drinking filtered tap water.
The Impacts of this Trip
Our Taste & Trails itinerary prioritizes locally owned suppliers including our boutique hotels, Bedouin-owned camps, local guides, transportation providers, and restaurants. We make a point at stopping at numerous social enterprises on Jordan’s Meaningful Travel Map throughout the trip, and support the economy and community through purchase of artisanal foods and goods.
We work with the same local tour guide each trip, and he has keep knowledge of the achievements & challenges, history and culture of Jordan and provides in-depth perspective and context as we learn about the unique place we're visiting. We're also visiting numerous community development programs such as a women’s soap making cooperative. We believe that a sound understanding of the local culture and community is essential to a transformative travel experience.
We also engage in a community partner activity to learn about social challenges in Jordan. We'll have a presentation with time to engage, ask questions, and see first-hand the impact that they've had. 5% of trip sales are donated to the NGO partner.
