Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

As experienced local sailors, we understand the negative impact human activities can have on the environment. We remain committed to preserving the precious marine life and its surroundings, so that future generations can experience these mythical adventures.

Whenever possible, sails are used to power the boat. The motor is used only if absolutely necessary. Solar panels on the vessel are used to provide electricity and hot water.

Our catamarans are equipped with reusable cutlery, plates, glassware and tea towels. We do not offer any plastic or paper cups/plates or cutlery. Wherever possible, we completely avoid single use plastic.

We encourage outdoor activities that are natural-power or wind-driven; such as wind surfing, paragliding, paddle boarding, swimming, snorkelling and archery.

We strongly encourage our guests to use walking as their mode of transportation when off the vessel and exploring the islands.

We have made arrangements with local markets to supply food and wine for our guests' meals. The produce is grown and harvested locally, supporting the local economy and minimising transport emissions.

Our pre-departure briefing includes guidance on the benefits of reducing the use of water and electricity during sailing tour.

Our tours are virtually paper free. All information provided to clients is put on a shared drive and viewed electronically. Similarly, clients have access to our brochures and information pack on a website portal. Brochures are not printed.

People

The vision is focused on preserving Greek history and culture by sharing Greek mythology in a fun, immersive way. Keeping Greek history and mythology alive benefits local communities through sustainable tourism and exposes and engages travelers in the rich, inspiring and timeless tales of our humanity.

We ensure all travel guides, archaeologists, historians, crew are native Greeks and that all other elements of our sailing tours are locally sourced. Breakfast and lunch provisions are also purchased locally, while dinner recommendations support family owned restaurants offering authentic, regional food.

As part of the sailing tour travelers engage in games that incorporate fun challenges which encourage them to interact with locals and familiarise themselves with regional culture.

Our tours include visits to local communities where guests are introduced to local delicacies, such as specialised desserts of the region. Our travelers get to enjoy rare and beautiful wines of the region during a special wine and cheese tasting experience. These activities promote and value regional cuisine, viniculture and agriculture.

By booking this trip, you bring in much needed income to the local communities in the form of reliable and continuous employment and ongoing demand of products and services.
