WASTE: Iran has a high plastic consumption mainly because the price of plastic is super low in Iran. We try to reduce plastic usage on our trips as much as possible. We try to use reusable bags during the trip to avoid getting plastic bags from supermarkets.
Another source of waste during Iran tours is remaining foods in restaurants. Iranian restaurants provide big portions of meals, which tourists are usually not aware of. Adding some delicious side dishes could easily end up wasting food. We would reduce food waste by informing our travelers about the size of portions in restaurants. Also, if food remains unused, we’ll offer to pack the food and give it to people in need.

BUILDINGS: We try to encourage ecolodges and environment-friendly accommodations by offering our travelers to stay in them. We try to give feedback to these local-managed ecolodges and help them to make their business more sustainable. For instance, on this tour, travelers stay a night at an ecolodge in Varzaneh and another at a traditional guesthouse in Pasargadae. However, if they prefer, we'll change all the 4-star hotels to ecolodges and traditional guesthouses.

People

TRAVELING WITH RESPECT: Iranian people are famous for their hospitality and warm behavior to the degree that one of the best experiences of every tourist who comes to Iran is their interaction with locals. Considering this, we designed a “people & local life moment” on our tours, and travelers who like to interact more with locals would have this opportunity during the tour. Our guide would facilitate the connection between travelers and locals. We provide the ethical codes if needed to make sure that tourists behave respectfully considering the local culture of every region in Iran.

LOCAL CRAFTS AND CULTURE: On this 12-day tour, travelers will visit Bazaars in Tehran, Isfahan, Yazd & Shiraz. In all these Bazaars, local handicrafts are available, and the stores are managed by locals. These Bazaars are not like big and modern malls; in contrast, they are traditional, and almost all the stores are small local businesses. Some stores are managed by the local artists themselves; it is no surprise if you see someone making a handicraft in front of you in a store. So, we try to support the local crafts by spending time during the tour visiting these places.
