CARBON REDUCTION

The vehicles used on this tour are train, public cycle ferry, e-bicycle, kayak/canoe and also e-car in airport transfers. The luggage is not transported. Instead, we provide panniers for the cycle tour and store the luggage. Our unique lake nature becomes familiar during the roundtrip. They will cycle through forests, islands, bridges, and eskers absorbing the natural beauty.

As high percentage as possible of the food served during the trip are locally produced.

ENVIRONMNET & WILDLIFE

Tab water is drinkable all over Finland, so all the cyclists need is a refillable water bottle.

Our clients will get practical tips for sustainable travel and a link to our blog posts giving tips for sustainable traveling in Finland and if they are interested, we can also show them the carbon footprint of the tour, which can be compared to our other tours. Our company does have a Biosphere certificate in line with the 2030 Agenda and the 17 SDGs of the United Nations and we also have the Sustainable Travel Finland label and we do our best to show ecological responsibility by minimizing the carbon footprint of our clients.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY

Our guests will have a chance to meet and talk to the Finnish people during this journey and learn a lot about the local life. They will stay at a local organic farm and at a southern Finnish country home. They will also get a chance to relax in a wood-heated traditional sauna by lake Saimaa and swim in natural water. Culinary experiences vary from fine dining to home-cooked meals using seasonal, pure ingredients like berries, mushroom, game or fish.

Local, cultural events can be included as the route includes many locations hosting music, desigm and thetre festivals like the Savonlinna opera festival, Helsinkik festival, Helsinki Design week, Tampere Theatre festival or Sibelius Festival in Lahti. We can also easily adapt the route to include cultural events the clients are interested in.
