Traveling in Japan is a delight, thanks to its superb public transport system. On this adventure, you'll experience Shinkansen bullet trains, local trains, subways, and even a cruise on your visit to Ashinoko Lake.

The itinerary emphasises shared local transport and walking. Each guest receives a prepaid SUICA card, encouraging the use of public transport over taxis both on guided days and during free time. This eco-friendly approach reduces carbon emissions and alleviates road congestion.

On day 9, we stay at Hotel Fukuchiin in Koya, chosen for its authentic Japanese-style accommodations. Guests will enjoy traditional Buddhist vegetarian dishes, with a focus on locally produced and seasonal vegetables.

Japan excels in recycling, making it easy to be environmentally conscious. Separate bins are found in accommodations and outside convenience stores, and your tour leader will offer tips to support these practices. To minimise waste, we encourage travelers to carry a small bag or backpack for reusable items like chopsticks and water bottles, which are readily available at convenience stores.

On day 8, we have included a visit to Nara Park, home to a unique and genetically distinct population of sika deer. The shrines' protections have ensured their survival, unlike other populations affected by hunting and settlement. Visiting Nara contributes to the ongoing preservation of this significant park.
