Walking allows visitors to explore the island's natural landscapes with zero direct tailpipe emissions during hiking stages.

RESOURCE CONSERVATION

Water conservation is essential in island environments, where treatment and wastewater management require energy. To address these challenges, we ask our guests and guides to adopt responsible water management guidelines along the trail. This includes washing dishes in a basin rather than leaving the tap running, disposing of wastewater at least 30 meters away from natural water sources, using low-impact soap away from lakes or rivers, and preventing oily or food-contaminated water from entering waterways. We also encourage using refillable water bottles to minimize single-use plastic waste in remote environments.

PROTECTION OF LOCAL FLORA AND FAUNA

We emphasize the importance of respecting local ecosystems along our routes. Travelers are asked to refrain from feeding wildlife, as non-native foods can harm animal health and alter natural behaviors. Guests should avoid disturbing animals for photographs or handling wildlife, and leave all flowers, plants, and geological features untouched in their natural environment.
