Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

The itineraries we create are guided by three core pillars: protecting the environment, supporting local communities and enabling our guests to travel responsibly. To ensure this, we partner with a boutique team on the ground that champions responsible tourism and shares our values.

Our partners are a B Corp company, carbon neutral and are committed to integrating business practices that have a positive impact on the environment and society. They donate at least 1% of all there profit annually to the Planet Initiative which supports conservation projects. By working closely with our partners, we can be confident that operations on the ground are screened and vetted and adhere to sustainable practices.

Whilst guests are on the ground, we enforce a leave no trace policy and visits to
Los Glaciares, Nahuel Huapi and El Chalten include park entry fees, which directly fund conservation of landscapes and wildlife. We choose low-impact activities such as walking tours, kayaking and hikes to minimise carbon footprint and we encourage small group led tours and transfers to reduce the number of vehicles, lowering emissions and visitor pressure on sensitive sites.

Through experiences, our guides educate guests about the fragile ecosystems they visit, raising environmental awareness and sharing responsible visitor tips, so that guests understand local challenges and how to minimise negative impact.

Accommodation included in this itinerary also demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability and have all been vetted by our partners on the ground. The majority have been certified as some of the greenest hotels by GSTC, highlighting their sustainable management and social responsibility.

People

People are at the heart of everything we do. Our local partners train guides annually on safety protocols, service, destinations, and responsible travel, ensuring they are equipped to make a positive impact.

All operations are local, so local suppliers, local transfers and local guides, ensuring employment for residents and authentic storytelling rooted in Argentinean culture. Buenos Aires, El Chalten, Bariloche and San Martin de Los Andes are explored on foot, engaging with local life, artisans and local traditions.

All the experiences are also carefully curated to provide authentic engagement. For example, while exploring Buenos Aires, our local guide takes our guests on a walking tour to uncover the city’s rich history and explores the unique cultures of its distinct neighbourhoods. In el Calafate, guests will visit Estancia Cristina, where time will be spend at the family ranch learning about the history of the Master family and life in rural Patagonia.

Hotels are small, locally owned accommodations to ensure we support regional employment and avoid mass tourism. We also encourage guests to dine out and try the local cuisine, supporting the local food supply which contributes to the economic development of the region.
