The eco-lodge we work with is fully operational, but solar panels are still under construction and will become the main source of energy for hot water and electricity in the future. This trip combines a short internal flight to reach Kharga Oasis with overland travel between oases and Luxor, helping to reduce unnecessary emissions while letting travelers enjoy the desert landscapes, local farms, and small villages along the way.
Meals at the lodge are prepared using vegetables grown locally in the oasis, which supports small farmers and reduces the need for imported produce. Guests are encouraged to bring reusable bottles and avoid single-use plastics, helping to keep the desert environment as clean as possible. We also remind travelers to respect the natural surroundings, including plants, sand formations, and archaeological remains.
By making these choices overland travel, supporting local produce, reducing plastic, and using sustainable facilities whenever possible we aim to give travelers a full and responsible experience of Egypt while leaving a lighter footprint on the land, the communities, and the fragile desert ecosystem.

This trip is designed to support the communities living in Egypt’s Western Desert and the areas along the journey, where tourism can make a real difference. We work with local guides, drivers, and family-run lodges, which ensures that tourism income stays in the community and helps sustain small businesses.
Travelers visit local markets, craft workshops, and small shops where handmade products are still produced. Buying even simple items directly supports families and keeps traditional skills alive. Meals prepared at the lodge often use ingredients sourced from the community, creating additional income for local farmers.
We provide fair work opportunities for women and young people in the oases wherever possible, whether through cooking, guiding, or assisting in activities. Guides teach travelers simple Arabic greetings, explain local customs, and encourage respectful behaviour. This helps travelers connect with the people they meet, while ensuring that communities benefit directly from tourism. The goal is simple: everyone enjoys the journey, and the communities feel the positive impact of visitors in a fair and meaningful way.
