Our safari is thoughtfully designed to reduce operational carbon emissions and promote responsible travel at every step. Accommodation choices on this route include Ol Losowan House and Cottages, Elerai Camp, Voyager Ziwani Tented Camp, Satao Camp, and Money Suites (details pending verification) — all selected for their commitment to reducing environmental impact and supporting local conservation.

Where possible, we encourage overland travel options for internal transfers to minimize avoidable short flights and lower total flight emissions.

In the bush, Voyager Ziwani Tented Camp has implemented water-saving infrastructure with low-pressure showerheads, monitored water use, and towel reuse messaging (which also reduces energy and chemical use in laundering) and uses solar-recharge lighting to reduce reliance on fossil electricity.

All properties on this itinerary offer vegetarian and vegan options daily, made with locally sourced and seasonal produce wherever possible, lowering the carbon footprint associated with long-distance food transport.

Our trip notes also offer proactive guidance to guests on reducing their carbon impacts, including choice of meals, transport behavior, and packing reusable water bottles and utensils throughout the journey.

Several accommodations feature concrete carbon-saving measures: Ol Losowan House and Cottages prioritizes comprehensive recycling and the use of natural, low-impact Cinnabar Green products, plus indigenous gardens that help support local biodiversity around the property. Guests are briefed on recycling practices and low-impact living during their stay.

ENVIROMENT AND WILDELIFE

Every stop on your safari contributes to nature-positive tourism by supporting biodiversity, local ecosystems, and community engagement.

Most notably, Satao Camp / Satao Elerai Conservancy is officially ecorated and involved in conservation and community stewardship, including ongoing environmental audits, water conservation systems, waste segregation and reduction, and collaboration with local wildlife monitoring initiatives — all of which help protect habitats adjacent to Amboseli National Park.

Guests to Satao Elerai are briefed on the camp’s environmental values on arrival, participate in water- and energy-saving practices, and can learn about reforestation efforts, elephant monitoring, and local community conservation governance that directly supports wildlife corridors.

At Voyager Ziwani Tented Camp, environmental best practices include bulk purchasing to reduce packaging waste, biodegradable toiletries, and water management systems that conserve precious local supplies — contributing to responsible operations in the sensitive Tsavo West ecosystem.

Throughout the safari, your entry fees to protected areas like Tsavo West and adjacent conservancies near Amboseli go directly toward park conservation and ranger activities, helping maintain vital corridors for elephants, lions, and other species.
