Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
Sailing allows us to travel between islands using the wind whenever conditions permit, while avoiding the scale and impact of large cruise-style tourism. Our small catamaran can visit quieter harbors and anchorages, helping spread visitor spending beyond the busiest ports. We reduce waste by provisioning carefully, using reusable plates, glasses and serving ware, and encouraging guests to refill water bottles whenever practical. We limit single-use plastics where possible and avoid overbuying food.
Guests are encouraged to respect marine life, beaches and coastal environments, leave no rubbish behind, and never disturb wildlife or remove anything from the natural environment.
Traveling in May, outside the peak summer season, also helps reduce pressure on popular islands and supports a slower, more thoughtful style of travel. Small groups, local provisioning and time spent in less crowded places all help us enjoy Greece while minimizing our environmental footprint.
People
We believe responsible travel should directly support the people who live in the places we visit. Our groups are small, and we intentionally spend with local businesses throughout the journey.Guests dine in independently owned tavernas, visit local beekeepers and wineries, use local guides and transport providers, and shop in island markets and small businesses. Whenever practical, we purchase food and provisions locally, helping keep more tourism income within the communities we visit.
Traveling in May also supports local businesses outside the busiest summer months, when visitor spending can be especially valuable.
We create a welcoming environment for solo travelers, couples and friends. Many guests join on their own, and the small-group setting encourages genuine connections and shared experiences. We also value respectful interaction with local people, allowing guests to learn more about Greek culture, traditions, food and everyday life in a personal, meaningful way.
