Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.
Planet
The first nights at Cochin is at the Homestay which is a family home in three acre coconut garden on the banks of backwaters very near to Fort Cochin. You get a chance to eat fresh local fish, prawns, crabs, etc from the local fishermen at the spot. You can meet local family house or prawn farm house and learn cooking your dinner with them. In the garden no pesticides are used. Only natural manure and organic fertilizers are promoted. We use solar water heater for providing hot water at the shower. There is no artificial garden or resort like ambiance. It is very natural and every thing grow in splendid in the green earth. At Ayurveda center too you get fresh vegetable and vivid dishes of vegetables for meals. You can openly discuss with the doctor and the trained local men / women are to help you for the Ayurveda treatment and yoga meditation.
The accommodations are renovated traditional kerala style buildings with tiled roof and wooden ceilings. And it goes in harmony with the green nature...

Unlike other Ayurveda or Yoga Centres here the treatments and practices are performed at a homestead of an ancestral family and it allows the guests to enjoy the priceless benefits of expert Ayurvedic treatment and care as a part of the in-house facilities. The local people are in intimate attachment for several generations with this family set up and they too get benefited. There is no luxury or fantasy at the accommodations what we have is traditional and simple accommodations related to the life style with magical beauty of nature. The limited number of guest’s involvement preserves the local ecology and culture. The Government accreditation to this Ayurvedic homestead and its ancestral inheritance itself is a clear evidence of genuine treatment and its authenticity.
The general cleaning of the garden are done by the local women groups
(members of Kudumbasree - A project of India Govt.) who gets 100 days job in an year and is paid by the Govt. besides pensions and other benefits. The Homestays work join hand with the Govt. to provide employment to the local women, poor and weaker sections.
A suitable amount from the profit generated out of this vacation will be utilised for supporting poor students in the village of Bilathikulam / Kumbalang
