During our walks we make sure that we stick to marked paths and our tour leaders are keen to explain about the local flora and fauna of the area to our groups. This tour is very much in keeping with the island’s tourism development strategy which aims to reduce mass tourism and its negative impacts and instead promote small group or independent travel to the island's places of beauty and to make visitors more aware of the need for the conservation of the island's fauna and flora and protection of its natural resources.

As Mallorca is a small island, water is a very precious resource, the tap water is drinkable and we encourage customer to bring a reusable water bottle. Along the routes there will be opportunities to re-fill from springs.

As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.

People

Our walking groups are limited to a maximum of 16 people which means we can use smaller, locally-owned accommodation and restaurants. For example our first hotel in Esporles was once a former Inn for traveling merchants, traditional in its features. In the evenings, customers are encourage to try the local restaurants and discovering the distinct Castilian-Leonese influence of the area. This means that more of our customers money goes to the Mallorcan's themselves rather than to international hotel and transport chains.

We walk along ancient pathway and pilgrimage routes, following the Postman's and Archduke's Trails and make use of the island's public buses and taxis to take us to the start of our walks. This helps to reduce our carbon footprint and further support the local economy.

As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
