On the day that we rode to the reindeer people, we went up, and down, a mountain covered with the most delicate pine trees, and the forest floor was carpeted with flowers...It was like being in Fairyland.

So many highlights - cantering across valley floors, playing traditional games on horseback, visiting local people, seeing petroglyphs from the Stone and
Bronze ages and of course, visiting the Eagle festival.
Tips?
If booking the September trips, bring a lot of warm clothes. Double what you think you might need. Bring some small gifts for visiting local families.

The best parts were riding in unknown rural France with horses up country tracks and beneath trees in occasional woodland. Excellent throughout. We rode (mainly tolting and walking, but some cantering once the guide was certain of our riding ability) across varied terrain, which
was wonderful, and each tried out several different ponies, selecting our favourite for riding on the last day. Our final day's riding ended with a magnificent gallop along a deserted beach, after crossing estuarine waters.
