Nepal
There is no question that the Himalayas offer some of the best hiking in the world and this Nepal travel guide merely scratches the surface of the pic...

In French, they use the word ‘insolite’ to describe an unusual vacation. Which sounds a bit like insolent. Rebelling against the norm.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Teaching a class of Nepali 12 year olds.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone, be prepared to accept and enjoy the concept of difference - and - wear a mask on your long distance flights, wish I had. I would also suggest that you don't try to pack too much into your stay - it's too easy to look at everything, but see nothing, because you can't take it all in. Be careful not to go home with loads of photographs but no memories, Nepal is too magic a place for that.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

All three - I stayed with a Nepali Family, ate with them, talked with them, had a wonderful time, despite picking up a bug on the flight across and being sick for
half the stay. They really took care of me, it would have been so much more uncomfortable had I been staying in a hotel.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Despite being unwell I had an amazing time - staying with the family taught me so much more about a country I was already more than a bit in love with. I
didn't want to leave and will go back to stay with them again as soon as I can - it's another world and one well worth exploring slowly.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing it will help support the places and people that you visit, and the planet. Read how below.

Planet

We are equally aware of the environmental issue in all our trips and trying to minimize the impacted things and harmful activities on nature. Our guide will give a briefing about Responsible Tourism and how to best minimize the impact on nature, for example: Dispose of all waste in a rubbish pit, purify drinking water, proper litter removal, using kerosene fuel for cooking rather than fire-wood, use of local tea houses/ local camping sites.

During your homestay trip you will be served up local Nepali food rather than purchasing wrapped/imported items.

We provide further information on how to preserve the environment when out exploring, for example: how to provide food wastage to domestic animals. We also try and trek/hike where possible to limit the use of cars and pollution emitting vehicles.

People

Tourism helps to generate income for the local community. For example: by purchasing local products such as fresh fruits, handloom products, meat, drinks, and fresh vegetables and providing job opportunities etc

There is the opportunity to support talented students of hilly region for the higher education and travel to abroad. We also ensure there are many opportunities to share a moment with local people and engage with traditional customs. We support local schools and health posts, for example: donating funds and educational materials to kids, in relation to the condition of schools and students. Support to local health posts is given through donating medical materials.

This trip is based on local family home stay / hotels and Resort. In this trip we visit at Kavresthali Women Society for supporting and observe their activities.

We give support to Kvresthali Women society by providing a certain percentage of the amount of our income from this trip, to repair culvert bridge and for Goat farming, as well adult literacy for women.

We use local men-power in the trip such as local tour/ trekking guide. Hire Local transport. It provides great opportunity for the local inhabitants to enhance their carrier & develop the community.
