CARBON REDUCTION

In all our trips, we contribute to Reforestarg. This institution generates collective plantations, empowers local producers, and conserves native forests. Thanks to all travelers who chose this journey, we have planted one more native tree in our country.

All activities inside the Iguazú National Park are walking tours in the walkbridges. Also, a bike tour is included.

In Rincón del Socorro, all meals are included and travelers can chose vegan/vegetarian dishes. All are made with local ingredients and from the organic garden of the lodge. Other ingredients are from local producers.

ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE

Activites in Iguazú and Iberá are all made with expert guides.

In Iberá, we work closely with the REWILDING NGO,a group of conservationists and activists united in our strong commitment to the restoration of natural beauty, our belief in the intrinsic value of all species and in the possibility of creating a model of development for rural communities based on conservation and rewilding.

In 2001, Douglas Tompkins, a philanthropist, and conservationist, acquired the farm Rincón del Socorro to create a 74,131-acre natural reserve that would be handled by his foundation, The Conservation Land Trust (CLT). Acquiring Rincón del Socorro and other fields in Iberá had a simple but ambitious aim: to create the greatest natural park in Argentina, return the locally extinct fauna, and foster an economy based on ecotourism.

Tompkins and his team restored and expanded the old buildings of the farm, removed the cattle from the fields, eliminated hundreds of miles of fences, and initiated the biggest process of reintroduction of locally extinct fauna (REWILDING) in the Americas. Giant anteaters, pampas deer, and peccaries have already been released. Part of this process concluded with the donation of lands for the creation of the Iberá National Park which, together with the provincial reserve, constitutes the great Park Iberá.

The greatest development of the reintroduction of fauna has taken place in this Reserve, where colonies of giant anteaters, pampas deer, and collared peccaries have been established. Currently, Rincón del Socorro is the only place in Argentina that harbors these three mammal species. In addition, there are many capybaras, marsh deer, brocket deer, black howlers, foxes, viscachas, and rheas. It’s also possible to see the weird-maned wolf, the neotropical river otter, and the crab-eating raccoon.

LOCAL ECONOMY

All accommodations for this trip are locally owned. We work with local guides for all our activities during this trip.

In Iguazú, travelers can do a Guided walk with our native guide, providing detailed information about the Guaraní culture's religion, customs, art, relationship with the natural environment, beliefs, and legends.

In Iberá, travelers can taste mates and tortas fritas with the local people in Uguay while learning about their traditions and observing the local crafts and knitting.

Guides from Iberá are all local and some are even ex hunters that today are the protectors of the animals.
