CARBON REDUCTION:
Three of five camps use solar power as the main power source, while all five use solar power as a portion of their power.
This itinerary caters to both vegans and vegetarians.
Camps source local and seasonal ingredients for meals as much as possible, with menus tailored to the availability of quality ingredients.

ENVIRONMENT & WILDLIFE:
Our local partners support a number of conservation programs in Namibia using funds raised through travelers, through the Future Nambia Fund.
Each accommodation has water reduction policies in place, and each guest is supplied with advice on how to reduce water use during their travels through Namibia.
Each safari camp/lodge supports conservation and wildlife protection, with a portion of income from guests dedicated towards a variety of projects.
Conservation fees and income from Okonjima Nature Reserve support AfriCAT, an extensive, long-standing conservation programme that includes leopard monitoring and behavioural research projects, a successful cheetah rehabilitation programme and monitoring of the vulnerable pangolin.
Conservation fees and income at Ongava Game Reserve support the Ongava Research Centre, which is home to scientists and researchers who are studying the wilderness and working towards creating stronger bonds between humanity and the environment. Ongava also has a successful rhino reintroduction programme and continual monitoring and protection.

People

LOCAL ECONOMY:
Four of the five properties are Namibian-owned.
Three of the properties have been long established in Namibian tourism, operating successfully for decades while contributing to the community.
Each of the safari lodges has local, Namibian guides, and one of the safari lodges is involved in the training of Namibian guides.
Community and cultural visits are available at three of the lodges, and fees directly support the village and community.

EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY & DIVERSITY:
Our ground agents and ourselves pay the minimum wage in each destination.
Our ground agents and the camps and lodges employ local Namibians in the majority.
Our ground agents encourage staff to volunteer at local projects for one day per month, supporting a variety of local projects including the National Library of Namibia, a local orphanage and Hope for Life Foundation.
Two of the camps support local primary schools and further education within the tourism industry to encourage employment within the local community.
