Everything was great, but I loved Thesalonika and the site of Pella. The rest of the places we went were also great. Read full reviewReviewed on 09 Dec 2025 by James Oliver Gebhart
The visit in Vergina and the tombs are out of this world. We also enjoyed Meteora rocks and the hiking that we did there with our guide. Read full reviewResponsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONCaring for the environment and reducing the operational carbon emissions of the trip are core values of our company and we try our best to create a responsible vacation.
First of all, it is better to fly directly to Athens to start this tour and avoid interval flights. Also, opting for economic seats, which are smaller, is a great thing, as more people will share the flight with you.
As this is a group tour, the transportation from start to finish is being shared and sometimes we are using natural gas instead of petrol, which is a more environmentally friendly gas and the Co2 emissions are less.
Our base for 4 days will be Thessaloniki and you will be staying in a hotel at the center of the city. Most of the archaeological sites, museums and restaurants will be a walk away, so we recommend walking around instead of taking a taxi. Also, for 2 days of this tour, instead of using the car, you will opt to hike or cycle to witness the exquisite archaeological sites and landmarks of this tour. In other words, you are being active, protecting the environment and exploring in more depth all at once!
Lastly, during the food tour you will taste local sourced food from open local markets and family owned businesses. Upon request, we can offer vegetarian or vegan food during our welcome dinner or during the food tour.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
The hotels that we are cooperating with are trying to reduce their environmental impacts. For example, sorting out their waste and recycling paper, glass and aluminum. During the tour, our drivers/guides suggest to you not buying plastic water bottles, but opting for recyable ones and exploring Thessaloniki, Veroia or Kavala by walking instead of getting a taxi.

LOCAL ECONOMYOur main goal is to offer to you an authentic Greek experience and what a better way to do that than employing people from Greece. Our guides are locals, speak English fluently, are friendly, respectful of every person regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation or nationality and they will share with you stories that you will remember for a lifetime! The licensed archaeology guides that will guide you inside the archaeological sites are from the surrounding areas like Kavala or Thessaloniki, so this will enrich even more your tour.
During the food tour, you will taste local sourced food from open markets like market Modiano, supporting the local farmers. Also, family owned businesses in Thessaloniki will welcome you in their spaces and offer you a great selection of their traditional products. In every town that you will be staying during this tour like Veroia or Kavala, our guides will recommend you a restaurant that is being owned by locals, so you will be boosting the local economy, but also tasting great dishes at the same time. Lastly, the entrance fees paid for visiting the archaeological sites and museums are being used for their conservation and a further research to uncover all the hidden archaeological treasures in our country.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
All our employees and operating partners are from Greece and half of our staff are women working in all the posts. (drivers and office employees). This trip is LGBTQ+ friendly, as one of the core values of our company is that we respect every person regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation or nationality. Lastly, we can accommodate people with limited mobility, vision or hearing, if we have been informed beforehand that they plan to join us. We provide hotels with easy access (not stairs, but elevators) and headsets, so they can easily enjoy the guided tours.
