Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) vacation so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your vacation to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

The itineraries we create are guided by three core pillars: protecting the environment, supporting local communities and enabling our guests to travel responsibly. To ensure this, we partner with a boutique team on the ground that champions responsible tourism and shares our values.

Our partners are a B Corp company, carbon neutral and are committed to integrating business practices that have a positive impact on the environment and society. They donate at least 1% of all there profit annually to the Planet Initiative which supports conservation projects. By working closely with our partners, we can be confident that operations on the ground are screened and vetted and adhere to responsible practices.

Whilst guests are on the ground, we enforce a leave no trace policy and visits to National Parks include park entry fees, which directly fund conservation of landscapes and wildlife. We choose low-impact activities such as walking tours, kayaking and hikes to minimise carbon footprint and we encourage small group led tours and transfers to reduce the number of vehicles, lowering emissions and visitor pressure on sensitive sites.

Through experiences, our guides educate guests about the fragile ecosystems they visit, raising environmental awareness and sharing responsible visitor tips, so that guests understand local challenges and how to minimise negative impact.

Accommodation included in this itinerary also demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability and have all been vetted by our partners on the ground. For example:

- The hotel in Buenos Aires is certified as one of the greenest hotels by GSTC, highlighting their sustainable management and social responsibility.

- In Iguazu falls, the lodge run as reforestation programme and each stay offers guests the opportunity to contribute. They are engaging in sustainable management in a broad area and also use local, seasonal produce from the area.
- Ibera Wetlands, the lodge have converted the property and surrounds into a protected nature reserve and run rewilding programmes to restore and maintain the surrounding ecosystem. They also run under the aegis of Conservation Land Trust, with a strong conservation remit.

People

People are at the heart of everything we do. All operations are local, so local suppliers, local transfers and local guides, ensuring employment for residents and authentic storytelling is rooted in Argentinean culture.

All the experiences are also carefully curated to provide authentic engagement. For example, while exploring Buenos Aires, our local guide takes our guests on a walking tour to uncover the city’s rich history and explores the unique cultures of its distinct neighbourhoods. Giving guests time at leisure, also encourages them to soak up daily life and dine and shop in the local area. In Cafayate, we prioritise visits to locally run wineries in the area and when guests visit Salina Grandes, guests can witness the salt extraction process and admire the works of local artisans who create sculptures using this same material.

All the hotels in this itinerary lean on local producers using local and seasonal foods, supporting farmers and surrounding producers. All of the experiences includes local certified guides from the local area keeping money in the region and offering guests a more authentic experience.
