Be prepared for the slower pace of life. The Swahili phrase “pole pole” meaning slowly, slowly is very appropriate. A meal may take more than an hour to
arrive but it will be fresh.

Avoid the Serena Serengeti hotel, not the best, service bad, food bad and rooms a bit shabby.

Seeing the great migration, thousands of wildebeest crossing a river while making a "snoring" sound. We stayed their watching them for several hours. Wonderful.
Tips?
Think about the fact that you want to go camping or prefer staying in a lodge. The bathroom-facilities on the camping sites are basic.

Everything went perfectly well. My family and I will never forget this vacations ever. Encountering wild animals, sleeping in a tent or exploring Stonetown were experiences that will linger for ever.

Get an agency that’s familiar with the place and hotels you are going to visit, like we did.

We fell in love with Pongwe beach hotel! Too many highlights to pick just one!
Tips?
Take a good camera with zoom lens, and good quality binoculars.
Take Immodium tablets - you are bound to need them at some point!
Develop a good relationship with your guide, they are invaluable at spotting wildlife and know where to look.

I really liked the wildlife diversity that Tanzania Parks can offer. Especially in some areas, it was great to be able to be so close to the wild animals.
Tips?
I would have spent more time in Serengeti National Park, because of the vast area I believe I didn’t take the most of it…I stayed just one night. I would reccomend at least one night tented camp experience.

Benefits to local people – Yes. Most of the camps use locals as employees.
