Memorable parts? My wife and I went on this trip with our 17 year-old son. Even as seasoned travelers to India, we would never have been able to do this trip on our own because this part of central India really doesn't have much tourist/traveler infrastructure. Cycling from village to village was absolutely fantastic. Our wonderful guide, Saurabh, based in Raipur, was not only brilliantly organised and wonderfully knowledgeable about wildlife, architure, people, plants, birds, customs etc.... (more)Jonathan Drori

Memorable parts? Every day we did something new and our hosts Saurabh and later, Sunny, always had a surprise in store! Though it's hard to choose one particular part (because the entire experience was amazing), the memories that will always stay with us - without needing to look at the photos - were the day-to-day interactions and chance meetings that we were fortunate to have with the local people. From watching people go about their daily business, to joining in their celebrations, we... (more)Heidi Fuller

So much to praise about this wonderful trip! - Sleeping at night listening to the sounds of the jungle at Shergarh – a most extraordinary and luxurious tented safari camp near Kanah. - Visit to Phen Wildlife Sanctuary, so lovely that there were no other jeeps, like safaris were fifty years ago. So peaceful to stop the jeep and listen to the sounds of the animals and the jungle. (more)Lesley Fairbairn
Every day of my trip was exciting and memorable. It was a truly wonderful experience to explore rural Chattisgargh with a seamlessly tailored vacation. I felt I made friends every step of the way and a part of me has stayed with a wish to return. (more)Gwyneth Wright
Birdwatching in India

He fixed it all up for us, we stayed in some really lovely small heritage hotels, family owned as well as basic facilities in one of the birdwatching areas. He arranged the cars and drivers plus the sleeper tickets on the trains. Saurabh came with us for the last stage of the trip in the Sam desert as he is a keen birder too. We struck gold and saw four of the highly endangered Great Indian Bustards, which is roughly equivalent to winning the Lottery twice! He was absolutely excellent and we... (more)Tricia Henton

My time at the Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat could not have been a better introduction to the delights of India. The slower rural pace allows you to enjoy the colour, history, flavour and hospitality of central India in an authentic but extremely comfortable setting. (more)Sally Knowles-Jackson
It was too short - only 7 days- due to our work commitments. However we both agreed it was one of the best, most authentic trips we have taken, and we have both travelled extensively. So I would rate it as 'excellent'. (more)Patti Wallace
It was excellent in every way. Thank you Responsible travel for recommending a vacation provider based in Raipur! (more)Anne Roberts

Overall the most memorable part will be the warm welcome and friendliness of all the people we met. Seeing the tigers in Kaziranga National Park, meeting the retired head hunters in the Konyak villages and lunch in a traditional Ao hut at Moponchuket were also wonderful. (more)Terry Chambers

Memorable parts? The most memorable part of the vacation would've been the experiences from visiting some of the Buddhist monasteries. The sense of calm and the quiet, friendly welcome extended in some of these beautiful oases perched amongst rugged mountains was at times overwhelming - in a very good way! The most exciting would have to be the travel on some of the roads, especially up over the Khardung-La. If a bit funny about heights, look out the other window... Tips? We went 'off...
